Paul Reed - Head Battlefields Guide

Our tours cover World War I and World War II battlefields across Europe including the D-day Beaches, The Western Front, Flanders Fields, The Somme and the Ypres Salient. We also cover other wars such as The American Civil War, Waterloo Anniversary Re-enactment, and many more.

Our tours aim to bring back the memories of battles past with the help of our specialist guides, these videos give a brief insight as to what to expect when on tour.

The videos cover both the first and second world wars as well as showing our customers on tour, walking in the footsteps of heroes.

Battlefield videos

All of Leger’s battlefield tours are accompanied by specialist guides. Their individual in-depth knowledge of warfare will be informative, as well as enhance your overall experience, as they recreate a fascinating perception of the history and factual events of each battle. Discover the actual catalysts for war, the strategies employed and the final, inevitable outcomes, as well as experiencing the emotional human side of the front line.

Travellers' Tales

First-hand knowledge is the best way to fully understand anything, so what better way to find out about a Battlefields tour before you travel than to hear from those who've 'been there' and 'done that'.

Our Travellers' Tales provide honest accounts of our guests' experiences and give you the chance to find out a bit more from people who've already travelled.

All Quiet on the Western Front

We have just experienced our first Leger holiday and want to thank you for a truly memorable and amazing experience which was way beyond all our expectations. In fact, I would refer to our trip as an amazing and unforgettable experience rather than just a holiday.

I became interested in your battlefield tours after discovering my grandfathers, four brothers and brother-in-law were all in WWI.

My husband and I took our two sons age 13 and 15 and my Mum (three generations) to find our 4th generation family members buried or commemorated after being killed in action during WW1.

Operation Market Garden

This, not being my first tour with Leger, I was expecting the same quality of service as that I received on the tour of Eastern Europe and I think this one, the Operation Market Garden, surpassed even that.

An Easy Journey

I chose Silver Service which was absolutely superb and would recommend it to anyone going on one of your tours. I, personally, would never travel any other way. The taxi that took me from home (as I live about ten miles away) removed the worry of getting to the pick-up point, and from the moment I arrived I quickly relaxed, knowing again that I was in very capable hands.

D-Day Landings in Normandy

My friend Martin and I chose this tour because having already travelled with Leger on two other occasions to Normandy and we really wanted to be there for the 6th of June, D-Day. We visited the main landing beaches: Utah; Omaha; Gold; Juno and Sword. If D-Day is what you are interested in then this is the tour for you. We have experienced this for ourselves and now have many wonderful memories and plenty of photographs to remind us of the tour.
